Blue Whale – Endangered

education

The Blue Whale is the largest animal on earth (up to 98 feet!). One whale eats approximately four tons of krill each day. Needless to say they play an important role in their ecosystems.

This species was nearly driven to the brink of extinction by commercial whaling. Although now protected from whaling, Blue Whales (and the species they feed upon) remain threatened by environmental changes and habitat loss.
